Stephen M. Person, M.D.
Stephen M. Person was born in Bunkie, Louisiana, and raised in Simmesport, Louisiana. He graduated from high school in 1966 and graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1970. Dr. Person attended medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating in 1974. An Internal Medicine Residency was completed at University Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana, and Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Person received his Internal Medicine Board Certification by The American Board of Internal Medicine in 1977. He was then Board Certified by The American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology in 1979.
Dr. Person began private practice of gastroenterology, in Lafayette, Louisiana, in July 1979. He founded Acadiana Gastroenterology Associates in 1980, and continues that practice at the present time. Dr. Person is an active staff member at Acadiana Endoscopy Center, Lafayette General Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, all in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is married to Kelli Martin Person, and has five children. His main hobbies include gardening and golf.

His professional societies include: The American Society for Internal Medicine, The American Gastroenterology Association, and The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Person is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
